This project studies the inclusive design of emerging technologies, focusing on three sub aspects: (1) user innovation, developing design methodologies and design artefacts that enable citizens to design or redesign solutions themselves (design BY users), (2) collaborative design, examining how interdisciplinary experimental environments can contribute to the transformation of fundamental knowledge into inclusive product design, and (3) interaction design, examining the extent to which fundamental insights on human-product interactions and emerging interaction technologies (haptics, gestures, affective computing, etc.) can contribute to more inclusive design strategies and capabilities.
