Seahorses are very famous fishes, in contrast to the lack of knowledge on the morphology of them and their allies, the pipefishes. Current knowledge on the adaptive morphology of the feeding apparatus, in relation to the extremely fast suction feeding is lacking. This project aims to study the implications of extreme trophic specialisations on the functional and ecological versatility of feeding performance, and thus resilience to a changing environment.
