Project description
Pain and disability in children have been primarily investigated from an intra-individual perspective. However, humans are social beings, and it is plausible that also the social context of pain is of importance. The aim of this research proposal is to further our understandings of distress and empathic responses in parents having a child experiencing pain, based upon a social-evolutionary perspective.
