To meet the growing demand for wireless communication, there is a convergence of fiber and wireless networks. Fiber offers significant bandwidth due to its low loss making it ideal as backbone network supporting the exploding amount of wireless traffic. This research focuses on various aspects to enhance this convergence, including exploring analog modulation techniques and their associated hardware and circuit implementations, and achieving time synchronization over the fiber network between different radio nodes to enable distributed transmission. The funds from this grant can be used for the fabrication of prototype circuits, purchasing consumables to build demonstrators, acquiring research test and measurement equipment, and funding researchers.
