This IOF consortium consists of a number of UGent research groups working on several CT techniques (X-ray micro/nanoCT, CAT, SPECT, PET, MR, microwave, XRF) and a number of supporting research groups (providing support on CT image processing, electronics, radioactive tracers and animal models). The overall research domain of the main groups in the consortium is that of non-destructive imaging for in- and ex-vivo applications. In itself, this is a vast research domain extending from medical applications to industrial and pure scientific applications. The consortium and hence the valorization effort, focuses on developing new CT instruments with combined functionalities, called Hybrid CT systems.
