Project description

At the level of Ghent University and the Department of Conflict and Development Studies, this programme contains two doctoral research projects, one on the presence, characteristics and dynamics of the middle class in Azerbaijan, and another on the social impact of the extractive industries in Western Kazakhstan.

 
Role of Ghent University
Ghent University of one CAPSIAN’s seven core partners. At present, two full-time Research Fellows are employed on the project, one working on the middle classes(es) in Azerbaijan, and another on the social-spatial impact of the extractive industries in West Kazakhstan.
