Project description
Aim of this research is to conduct a qualitative analysis of the role of neighbourhood situated institutions - private (family, friends) and public institutions (police, city services) as well as locally organised institutions (church, business, schools, …) - in the feelings of (in)security of local residents. In this way we want to enhance the applicability of the social disorganisation theory in explaining feelings of insecurity.
