This project examines the way foreign policies are made in Europe. To this end, two evolutions are scrutinized: the europeanization of national foreign policies of EU member states and the increasing flexibility in the policy-making structures of European foreign policy. More fundamentally, the move from traditional and hierarchical to more fluid and informal policy processes in European foreign policy will be looked at. Lastly, this project will study if, and to what extent, these evolutions have affected Belgian foreign policy.
