Project description
Inflammasomes and inflammatory cell death pathways play a central role in many chronic inflammatory diseases because inflammatory reactions and cell death processes are central to our body's immune response. In addition, pathogen-driven and genetic defects in the regulation of these immune mechanisms are a major contributor to autoinflammatory and infectious diseases. In this project we want to map new regulatory mechanisms of inflammatory and cell death responses as a basis for the development of new molecular diagnostics and treatments of infections and autoinflammatory diseases.
