Manufacturers and installers are getting more and more requests from residential end customers and SMEs to keep their energy bills under control. The number of elements that must now be taken into account has increased significantly in recent months, and more will be added. For instance, more and more consumers have a digital meter, the capacity tariff was recently introduced, larger energy suppliers will have to offer the possibility of a dynamic tariff and there will be the possibility of compensation for flexibility on the low-voltage distribution network (via aggregators). In addition, Fluvius has already started the stakeholder consultation process to introduce a time-of-use tariff and, in addition, flexibility products for small and medium-sized SMEs. In addition And there is now also the additional possibility of energy sharing between both own homes (e.g. country house) and different homes (e.g. with neighbours, family or friends)/energy sales. An important reason for the many questions from end customers is that just now sometimes 1 or 2 important new electric consumers are being added to their homes or SMEs, namely the heat pump and the electric vehicle.
This new market should be picked up by the two target groups of this project: Flemish installers and Flemish manufacturers. We receive a lot of questions from both target groups. Indeed, there are currently only a limited number of installers and manufacturers who master this market, and if a solution is already offered by a limited group (the so-called pullers), it does not take into account the new elements/opportunities that have been added.
This project aims to increase the knowledge of both target groups and to significantly increase the number of manufacturers and installers operating in this new market (see KPIs). It is precisely by bringing both target groups into intensive contact with each other within this project that manufacturers can better adapt their products to the end customer and installers can better apply the available products to their customers.
