The funding supports doctoral research in the collaboration between the Academic Workshop De-institutionalization Ruimte voor Zorg, Ruimte voor Zorg | Vlaams Bouwmeester, and COVIAS Academy, Covias Academy -  De-institutionalization is done under the heading of recovery-oriented care. During the past five years, several organizations, spread across North-West Flanders, have been joining forces to realize this. To make this possible close the lifeworld and interests of people with mental health needs, this cultural shift requires a different organizational policy away from "hospital-centrism" and governance regime, and further professionalization needed to realize the experience of care continuity throughout their pathways through the care landscape. The research  substantiates these issues based on a theoretical perspective of institutional psychotherapy/pedagogy, and a methodological approach of participatory action research.
