Project description

Lectins, proteins that bind to specific carbohydrates, are important in cell-cell interactions and hence also in parasite-host interactions. At present, not much is known about the presence and function of lectins in plant-parasitic nematodes. In this project, we want to 1) evaluate the distribution of different lectin types within nematodes and 2) functionally investigate some selected lectins from plant-parasitic nematodes.
