Project description

The signal transduction involved in the positive inotropic and chronotropic answer to stimulation of the 5-HT4-receptors on the cardiac myocytes is investigated, in particular the intracellular compatimentalisation through phosphodiesterases and protein kinase A anchoring proteins (AKAPs). In the colon this is evaluated for the different cell types possessing 5-HT4-receptors (cholinergic neurons, nitrergic neurons, smooth muscle cells).
