Conserving and sustainably using the oceans and marine resources, is a global priority; however, marine science and ocean literacy topics are underrepresented in school curricula worldwide. In attention to this, the importance of Sustainability Education (SE) has been internationally recognised. This PhD aims to contribute to the understanding of how SE is being embedded in marine science education at a higher education level.
