Project description

By using Hans Blumenberg’s myth theory, this research project aims to outline the critical role the problematic concept of ‘myth’ still has to play in the West’s philosophical self-reflection. The philosophical anthropology of Blumenberg is combined with the psychoanalytic-linguistic theories of Jacques Lacan to inquire into the paradoxical character of central concepts as truth, symbolisation and significance.
