Projectomschrijving

The increasing trend for curved structures signifies a paradigm shift in architectural aesthetics. These structures are shaped by the assembly of hundreds or thousands of individual thin-walled glass fiber reinforced concrete panels, each a few m2 in size and of unique complex geometry. On the other hand, producing concrete panels with complex geometries is very costly and challenging as conventional molding and casting techniques are impossible for manufacturing thin-walled concrete panels with complex geometries. The MagneCurve project aims to demonstrate the feasibility and the technical proof of concept of a new magnetorheology-based production methodology for complex geometry thin-walled concrete panels for tomorrow’s buildings.
