Project description

This project aims at enhancing our knowledge in the concepts of supercontinent cycles. The attention is directed to fragmentation of western Gondwana and the opening of the South Atlantic during the Mesozoic. Crystalline rocks along several key profiles in the Arac;:uai-West Congo orogen (soutwestern Brazil and Congo) will be dated by multi-method chronology to reconstruct the regional thermo-tectonic history.
