Project description
"New Horizons in Arabic and Islamic Studies” is an innovative project at Ghent University aimed at pioneering new areas of research within the fields of Arabic and Islamic studies. This ambitious initiative will explore critical and underrepresented topics, including Palestine Studies, the decolonization of Arabic language teaching, Arabic diasporic literature in Latin America, and emancipatory readings of the Islamic tradition. Through a series of dynamic workshops, engaging guest speakers, and impactful publications, New Horizons seeks to foster a deeper understanding and broaden academic discourse in these vital areas, positioning UGent at the forefront of contemporary scholarship in the field.
