Project description
The role of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) cation channels in cigarette smoke (CS)-induced inflammation and in the pathology of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), will be investigated using human samples and a murine COPD-model. The effect of CS-exposure on the expression and functional properties of TRP channels will be assessed using wild type mice, TRP knockout mice and specific TRP-channel inhibitors.
