Project description
To facilitate a large-scale hydrogen economy, a corresponding storage facility at scale is required. After a preliminary investigation, the Fluxys site at Loenhout seems hold potential for this purpose. To further assess this, research is needed with respect to:
- underground hydrogen transport in porous rock
- biological transformations in the underground yielding H2S
- aboveground H2S removal from the recovered gas
