Research activities focus on the occurrence and physical-chemical behaviour of organic micropollutants and bio-active organic minor compounds in natural and technical systems. To do so, there is need for the development, optimization and validation of ultra-trace and selective analytical methods. A challenge is to keep the wide portfolio of necessary (highly) advanced analytical equipment operational and at state-of-the-art level. Nex to that, research is performed to develop sustainable and innovative technology to degrade (bio-)recalcitrant contaminants of concern for both environmental and human health. Focus is put on fundamental working principles and mechanisms, as well as application potential. The requested funding will be applied for personnel costs, operational costs and/or equipment needed to realize the research activities.
