Project description

Antibodies are among the most versatile biologics with a wide range of applications as research reagents, diagnostics and therapeutics. All these applications require an in-depth validation for a robust performance. However, in the field of research reagents and diagnostics the end-users are confronted with recurrent shortcomings when evaluating polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies. Therefore, there is a global call for well-validated antibodies with high reproducibility. The emergence of synthetic biology and powerful screening tools has opened the field of non-animal derived synthetic antibodies. They can be directly functionalized for their use as research reagent or diagnostic without the need for secondary antibodies. VersaTile is a DNA assembly method that has been successfully used to conviently create synthetic antibody libraries and perform in vitro maturation. We aim to complete a fully integrated VersaTile-driven approach to set up a market-fit and scalable pipeline to be incorporated in a NewCo.
