The Amica ( "Automatic Monitoring for Cyberspace Applications") Project aims to relevant websites such as blogs, monitors chat rooms and social networking sites in order to automatically detect harmful or alarming messages, pictures and video's. In view of the increasing importance of image (eg. Pornography, self-mutilation), in such applications are based on an interdisciplinary approach in which text and image processing can be combined. Classification systems will be built that can detect such harmful messages "on the fly". Upon detection of a critical situation (eg. Cybermobbing), the relevant users are notified thereof.
