Policing is often scrutinized from the perspective of the police officers on the street. After all, visible police work is empirically easier to study (on the basis of observations, interviews, PV analysis). What is less often discussed empirically is how police officers professionalize and look at professionalism. Another project (in collaboration with international researchers) looks at international views on police professionalism. The budget that is provided by the basisfinanciering can be used to further expand this project and possibly expand it geographically.
