Project description

Our research group has a multitude of collections and data concerning Russulaceae (Lactarius, Russula, Lactifluus and Multifurca) word-wide, resulting from more than 20 years research in different continents. These data will be used to construct dated phylogenies that we use as a backbone to plot biogeographical features, ecological or other characters. This will help us to tell the evolutionary tale and to understand the evolution of certain characters. We want to assess the world-wide diversity as complete as possible based o fruitbody based research, as well as on eDNA. We want to stress the importance of up-to-date integrative taxonomy in order to interpret environmental sequences. In this context we aim at making Russulaceae an example group.
