Project description

Lateral root development requires coordinated cell divisions producing a layered primordium. A double mutant in Arabidopsis 1 and 2 shows randomized cell divisions during lateral root formation. Aim of this project is to unravel the function of the Arabidopsis Aurora kinases in asymmetric cell divisions, using lateral root formation as a model system and involves marker-assisted analysis and identification of targets of plant Aurora.
