Project description

Durability issues often impair the service life of structures of concrete and mineral materials. With self-healing, the service life can be extended and maintenance costs reduced. Important innovation goals in the project are: (1) design of dedicated healing agents and encapsulation technologies to obtain autonomous crack repair in concrete and mineral building materials and (2) simulation of crack healing by a validated numerical model.
