Project description

This is the continuation of the PhD project that was previously awarded for 1 year (transition from tenure track to senior lecturer), and on which Eline Eeckhout is doing a PhD.

In this project, drone remote sensing is used to detect abiotic and biotic stress in grain. The main focus is on detecting fungal diseases in wheat (Yellow rust, Brown rust) and distinguishing between drought stress. This project starts from experiments on individual leaves and plants in controlled conditions, and then scales up to field scale. In doing so, we can continue to work on the research that was carried out on the VLAIO R&D project CLIMABIS.
