Project description

The goal of this project is to assess lateral variations in grainsize, magnetic susceptibility and glass geochemistry of the volcanic ashes emitted by the 2011 eruption of the Puyehue-Cordon de Caulle Volcanic Complex (Chile). We will analyze tephra samples collected in Chilean and Argentinean lakes in February 2012 to discuss variations at the local (Lago Puyehue) and continental scales.
