Project description
Environmental claims are increasingly used by companies to convince customers to buy their goods or services, or even to finance themselves. It was found that some of the claims are made wrongly or are not formulated with sufficient precision (greenwashing). The question arises whether current law, as recently amended at European level, is sufficient to adequately protect against misleading sustainability claims.
The aim of the study is to examine whether the current regulation offers sufficient protection, as well as to formulate recommendations for new regulations where necessary. Particular attention will also be paid to the private and public enforcement of regulations aimed at avoiding greenwashing.
