Project description
The research focuses on the design and preparation of advanced functional materials through molecular design of the structures. Polymers are being developed for a broad range of applications ranging from medical devices, via drug and gene delivery to sensors and actuators. The common theme is in depth udnerstanding of how the molecular polymer structure controls the macroscopic properties.
Specific themes that weill be address are the development of poly(2-oxazoline)s as novel biomaterials, the development of responsive polymers for sensors and actuators and the developmetn of supramolecular polymers and hydrogels as molecular communication systems.
