Project description
Synthesis of alpha-galactosylceramide (KRN 7000) analogues with potential induction of a polarised cytokine response (Th1 or Th2) by NKT cells. The proposed modifications intend an improved binding affinity with the CD1d protein. This should result in a bias towards a Th1 response.
