As a physician-researcher, I focus on gynecological tumors, particularly breast and pelvic tumors. By combining clinical care with clinical studies, I am able to offer patients state-of-the-art treatments. In addition to participating in studies with innovative drugs, I pay special attention to the side effects of treatments. At the request of patients, we are working on setting up the multicenter HAIR study, which investigates the effect of minoxidil on hair loss during treatment with CDK4/6 inhibitors.
In addition to setting up and leading multiple clinical studies as a principal investigator, I am also very active as a translational researcher. In 2021, we began establishing a longitudinal biobank (ovarian carcinoma, triple-negative breast cancer, cervical carcinoma, etc.) for patients starting a new treatment. This biobank includes plasma, feces, and tumor samples, which are used for research on extracellular vesicles, the microbiome, PDX models, tumor microenvironment research, and more. These are all research lines in which I actively participate.
