Project description

The project intends to tackle the widespread phenomenon of Roman town abandonment during Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages, focusing on the regional context of Marche, in Central Adriatic Italy. The research will be conducted by integrating a series of traditional approaches (historical research, excavations) and large-scale non-invasive intra-site survey (remote sensing, geophysical prospections, GIS mapping) applied to such abandoned urban centers.
