Many people in Europe in general, and in the Flanders-Netherlands region in particular, depend on the helping hands of others for even the simplest tasks of their daily lives. At the same time,
an increasing number of people in the working population suffer from hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder disorders that prevent them from working and being productive. Dependence on helping hands and the
loss of working hands are therefore two sides of the same spectrum of problems, hence the title of the project: from helping hand to working hand.
