Project description

The main objective of this research is to assess whether the vinylogous vitrimer-family can be used as a matrix material for fibre reinforced polymers and whether its specific properties can yield extra advantages over the commonly used thermoplastic and thermosetting resins. It is the purpose to provide a first indication of what can be achieved with vinylogous vitrimers with regards to mechanical properties, creep and possible restoration capability which should help in convincing the industry of the quality of this new matrix material. In the framework of this project, we will also develop a few large scale demonstrators, to support the valorization effort.
