Project description

The HIV Nef protein plays an essential role in progression towards AIDS. An analysis of expression profiles induced by different Nef alleles in cell lines points to changes in gene expression as a possible mechanism of pathogenicity. The relevance of modulated expression of some genes will be analysed, aiming at discovering mechanisms by which Nef promotes viral infection and pathogenesis.
