Prof. Lambert's research group focuses on innovative projects to further optimize care for chronic immune-mediated skin diseases, with a particular emphasis on personalized treatment and value-driven care.
Chronic immune-mediated skin diseases, such as psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa, require long-term and complex care pathways that often do not adequately meet the individual needs of patients. Through her research, Prof. Lambert aims to improve care quality and patient value, considering the available financial resources.
The first pillar, personalized treatment, involves research into therapeutic drug monitoring, which entails measuring drug concentrations of expensive drugs (biologicals) in patients' blood. This approach seeks to determine the minimum effective drug concentrations in patients to enable guided dose adjustments.
The second pillar, value-driven care, aims to maximize health outcomes per healthcare dollar spent. This is achieved through a holistic approach that includes not only medical treatments but also psychosocial support and patient lfiestyle education. Health outcome data are systematically collected and analyzed to continuously improve care processes and manage healthcare costs.
Together, these pillars form an integrated approach aimed at delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care for individuals with chronic immune-mediated skin diseases. The ultimate goal is to enhance patients' quality of life and make care sustainable and future-proof.
