Project description

Quinones are natural products that display a variety of biological activities, amongst which antibiotic and antitumor activity, which makes them valuable for the development of new drugs. Tuberculosis is a serious infectious disease and the rise of multiresistant Mycobacteria necessitates continued research to new active compounds. In this respect, the current research proposal aims at the synthesis and bio-testing against various Mycobacteria of new 2-aza-anthraquinones, benzophenanthridinediones and octahydrobenzophenanthridinediones.
