Project description

Current methods of assessing pain require patient-consciousness are subjective and record discrepancies for similar pain-intensity measurements. Hence, an objective scale based on fundamental biochemical mechanisms of pain transduction is needed to characterize pain levels during unconsciousness. This fundamental research project aims to develop mathematical models to predict pain levels in anesthetized patients and deliver currently unavailable information to clinical staffs.
