More digitalization, green and/or equal policies... our governments are being strongly challenged at all levels, today and certainly tomorrow. Policymakers learn from and copy measures from one another. They operate in mutual competition or under pressure within an intergovernmental setting, choosing either innovation or the cessation of policies. Increasingly, formal rules of accountability and evaluation lead them to such decisions, although subjective perceptions and framing also (co)play a role. Our research aims to contribute to a better understanding of the current evolutions in public policy within the growing context of review. A range of methods (including literature study, interviewing, vignette experiments, etc.) will be employed, building on our previously conducted studies and established expertise in multi-level governance both domestically and internationally.
