The research within my team focusses on 2 lines: 1) The early detection of renal damage and 2) thyroid diseases in companion animals (especially hyperthyroid cats and canine thyroid tumors).  This research is underpinned by many years of expertise in endocrinology, nephrology and clinical trials.  Our current work is paving the way for new diagnostics to guide personalized treatment in companion animals, thereby improving outcomes for the pet-patients and the wellbeing of the owners. I plan to use this basic funding to pursue our research work in these areas mainly by supporting personnel and operating costs.
