CO2PED focuses on the sustainable transformation of vulnerable neighborhoods into Positive Energy Neighborhoods. The project focuses on the redevelopment of vulnerable urban neighborhoods from a holistic perspective, including thorough renovation and collective energy infrastructure, redesign of public spaces and the integration of social infrastructures and urban services. The neighborhoods studied present challenging spatial environments in terms of housing quality, energy efficiency and urban renewal, as well as social and institutional aspects. The project focuses on governance dimensions, social and behavioral aspects of energy transitions and examines issues of energy poverty and inclusive civic engagement. In doing so, CO2PED explicitly combines a citizen-centric and institutional perspective on the implementation of Positive Energy Neighborhoods.
