Project description

I plan to allocate the Basic Research Budget toward developing and constructing unique, specialized research equipment designed to fully characterize the mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of lubricants used in diverse mechanical applications under relevant tribological conditions. This includes precise characterization under extreme conditions such as ultra-high hydrostatic pressures, high shear rates, and a wide temperature range. If awarded, this budget will complement additional funding currently being sought, including FWO and IOF grants, given the significant scientific and valorization potential of this challenging, unique, but  high-risk infrastructure.
