Project description

To increase the life span of metals and avoid the corresponding costs, more knowledge on the corrosion behaviour is required. In this study the microscopic features of corrosion will be explored by combining a detailed characterization of the microstructure with the corresponding local electrochemical behavior. This will generate valuable knowledge for the design of materials with improved corrosion resistance.
