Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis amphibians chytridiomycosis quorum sensing

Project description

Worldwide, amphibians are being threatened by the chytrid fungal skin pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis. During this project, we wil study the crosstalk between Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis cells. Then, we will study the quorum sensing (QS) mechanism by interfering with QS signaling. Finally, we will assess the role of QS molecules in Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis infection and disease dynamics.
