turbulence spray modelling flame numerical simulations

Project description

The proposal concerns accurate numerical CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations of turbulent flames, coming from fuel droplet sprays, within acceptable computing times. Two techniques are used: transported PDF (Probability density function) and LES (Large-eddy simulations). Attention will ne focused onto modelling of the conditional scalar dissipation rate and onto two-way coupling.
