Project description

The mechanisms of the increased intramyocitic triglycerides (IMTG) in insulin resistance and exercise training are not known. A possible pathway could be found in the expression of SREBPs. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of gastric banding and exercise training on the expression of SREBPs and its relation to IMTG content in morbidly obese patients.
