Project description
Moored offshore floating structures are exposed to large environmental loads which induce hydroelastic response. Accurate numerical modelling of the hydroelastic response is essential to assess their serviceability and survivability. A numerical platform will be developed based on smoothed particle hydrodynamic methods, coupled with a finite element analysis structural solver and a mooring line solver, validated using available 3-D experiments.
