Project description

Inquiry-based instruction, during which students themselves reason with historical information, is commonly perceived as an effective instructional approach for secondary history education, even though it has seldom been investigated. This intervention study investigates the effect of an inquirybased instruction curriculum on (1) students’ historical reasoning ability and motivation to study history, and (2) teachers’ educational beliefs and post-intervention instruction.
